Berlin & Potsdam; Lorette & me

Hi! :)

I already told you about my stay in France with Lorette and her family - now I'd like to show you my favourite pictures and impressions during Lorette's time here in Germany.
She stayed at my house for two month, from the middle of may till july. We spent a great time together again and we visited lots of different places (: I guess we both liked Berlin best :)

I'll start at the beginning though:
Here we were in Büdingen, a little village near my hometown:

There's a kind of chair made of wood - I find it very funny, haven't seen that anywhere else before :D

During the two month, Lorette got in touch with many of my friends, the following photos show us at the confirmation of Ida...

...and at the confirmation of Kira:

Lorette also got to know my neighbours - we're getting on like a house on fire! We've known each other since we were 3 years old and you cannot separate us! Here we are - me, Lea, Franziska and Lorette:

The picture was taken before a water fight in our garden :D

On this picture we were at the lake :b
Felt like we took a thousand funny pictures!

Well, as you maybe can guess, Lorette also met my best friend Vanessa! At her birthday party, we drove to the city of Hanau and took maaaaany many pictures together (: It was a lot of fun!

Of course we had to go shopping with Lorette, too! So, why not showing her the wonderful city of Frankfurt? :D
The first photo shows us in front of the 'myzeil' - a big shopping center made of glass on the outside

This is a bridge called 'Eiserner Steg' in Frankfurt - people, especially couples, come here to put locks on it. On the locks they write their name and date when they came together and so on :) after putting the lock on the bridge they throw the key away into the water because they would never want to remove it from the bridge - isn't that a nice idea?

We also went shopping in Aschaffenburg with a few of my friends:

Another trip where we had a lot of fun together was our tour to the theme park 'Phantasialand' with Lea! Maybe some of you know it - it is a bis park in the city of Brühl (near Cologne) with many attractions: rollercoasters, free fall towers, 4D cinemas and everything else you can imagine! :D

Our new friend - isn't he nice? :b

And may I present you our hot glasses? :D

We've got very beautiful bearts, don't we?

staying in the queue waiting for the rollercoaster

Here we are in a kind of mirror hall - very confusing!

Tatataaa - this is Mystery Castle! It is absolutely one of my favourite attractions! It's a free fall tower, about 65m high, inside almost completely dark and it goes up and down very quickly! We love it :D

Now, finally, I will show you the pictures of Berlin and Potsdam!
We stayed there for 5 days and were on the move night and day :) I can just advise you to go there, it is fascinating - they are such beautiful cities!

This first picture was taken in front of the O2 World:

Here we were near the East Side Gallery where you can see the remaining parts of the wall which separated Berlin until 1989:

And this is one original part of the wall - the photo was actually taken at the Open Air Museum of Checkpoint Charlie:

We also visited the Holocaust memorial of Berlin which you can see in the background:

Aaaaaand we met another cute friend! One of the famous bears of Berlin :) We love him!

And here comes the famous 'Brandenburger Tor'!

For Lorette and me, I guess the visit of the so-called 'Reichstagskuppel' of Berlin was one of the most impressive events. You have an amazing view over the whole city and if you want to, they give you an audio guide so that you are told some interesting information on the different buildings and sights.
We were really lucky because on top of that there was a wonderful sunset!

...lying on a kind of bench inside the 'Reichstagskuppel', enyoing the atmosphere ;)

outside the 'Reichstagskuppel', behind us the city of Berlin:

in front of the 'Reichstag' :b

'it's oooouuuurs!'

And finaaaallyy - Melly, the cutiest dog on earth (:

So now, I'll show you the photos of the fascinating city of Potsdam!
On this photo you can see us in front of the beautiful château 'Sans Souci':

the nice water fountain :D

We love Sans Souci :)

Here we are at the 'château Belvédère' - it's a very nice place which has been restored during the last years:

Berlin & Potsdam are such great cities - if you have the time and the motivation, visit them!!! It's awesome!

Love,
Yoko
